Isaac Mizrahi

Designer Isaac Mizrahi is best known for bridging the gap between high and low — creating couture as well as affordable fashions. Mizrahi was born in Brooklyn and given his first sewing machine by his father when he was ten years old. He attended Parsons School of Design and presented his first collection in 1987 at the age of twenty-six. He went on to design his eponymous line until the late 1990s. Since 2011, Mizrahi's brand has been majoratively owned by Xcel Brands, where he remains a shareholder and is the creative director.

Mizrahi has been a talk-show host, performed a own one-man show Off-Broadway, was the subject of the documentary Unzipped, and is author of the book How to Have Style.
